It's Christmas day and the two of us woke up to stockings from Santa. In mine was a number of goodies and some fake snow to remind me of home. In Clem's was straws (as she loves them) and a few other goodies. After the stockings, we opened up our presents from England which was a lot of fun especially seeing them all under our tiny Christmas Tree.
Once that was over, we went and decorated the outside of the house before leaving for Leong Nokta. Let me tell you, it was an adventure getting there. First we got the train to Ubon but it was about 3 hours late! Next we have to get a Song Tao for about 45 mins to the bus station but when we tried to get a bus to Leong Nokta, they all told us that the buses had finished for the day. We weren't that impressed as it was wasting our Christmas day. Thankfully, someone came over and told us that if we went to Yassatorn, we could get a bus from there. So, the next step of the journey was to go there. On the bus we managed to get the last two seats right at the back of the bus. Once we finally arrived at Yassatorn, we and to wait for about an hour for the bus to Leong Nokta. After a while we finally arrived at Leong Nokta to find the bus station deserted as it was a small town and so late.
We set off from Si Saket at around 1pm and got to Leong Nokta at about 10/11pm! Such a long journey to go not that far. Once we had got to Anna and Fleur's house, we did secret Santa. The first time we all picked names, five of us picked our own names. The second time we chose though, I got Chess and the funny thing was that she got me. I gave her a cute frog money jar and I got a beautiful purse. Afterwards we watched Love Actually and Black Adder's Christmas Carol (Although I fell asleep in that as I was tired).
The next morning Clem and myself woke up in the living room as that's where we fell asleep to find no one else there. Anna and Fleur had slept in their own rooms and the other three had gone into the spare room. We never realised that they had left as we were fast asleep. As we were the first to wake up, we went to the bus station to look for bus times to Ubon as we had to get back and decorate the school. Once that was over we watched the Grinch whilst waiting for everyone to wake up as I had never seen it. It was amazing! I loved it.
Once people had woken up, we had to leave which was sad. We got on a bus which went straight to Ubon this time but it was so crowded that Clem and myself has to sit in different places. I was sat next to this cute little girl and her mum. Everything was going fine until I woke up and found out that the girl had been sick. Not pleasant as it smelt very back. What made it worse was that the mother then poked the child's stomach to see if there was anything left which is fine, but the girl was pointed at me! I really didn't want to be thrown up on again. Once we got to Ubon I got changed and we went to find the bus back to Si Saket.
We got back in no time at all. To get there, it took around 10 hours while to get back, it took about 4. Just a small difference. Once we got back we helped prepare the college for the Christmas activity which was the next day even though Christmas was over. That took up all of the afternoon and went on into the evening. Finally though, it was all done and we could go home and rest. A Christmas full of travel but it was a fun spending it in Thailand.
